CENTRA’S EASTER BUNNY DELIVERS MORE THAN 3,000 EASTER EGGS TO DIRECT PROVISION CENTRES.
Picture shows Driver Paddy Greene from Cavan with some of the eggs at the Musgraves Distribution Centre in Kilcock Co.Kildare.
Nick Henderson, CEO of the Irish Refugee Council said: “Children across Ireland have faced huge challenges during the crisis, not least those in Direct Provision. Sharing rooms, limited space and parents under pressure has made their daily living particularly difficult at this time. An Easter egg is a small but important gesture and Centra has helped to put a smile on some of the children’s faces by delivering a range of chocolate eggs for both the children and their parents. As Centra trucks were delivering to stores they were able to make a stop off at centres in Dublin, Meath, Kildare, Clare and Cork where they were greeted with big smiles albeit through windows and at a distance. Musgrave have been a consistent supporter of the Irish Refugee Council, this is another example of providing support to those less fortunate, and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing commitment to this issue. We are also very grateful to the Department of Justice and Equality for facilitating these deliveries. ”

Commenting Ray Kelly, Marketing Director, Centra said “This is a particularly challenging time for everyone. As a community retailer we are committed to helping the elderly and most vulnerable in our communities and our stores and staff are there to help in every way they can. Centra is delighted to be in a position to ensure the Easter Bunny can put a smile on a few more faces this Easter.”
